Our in-depth look

Who it's for

Homes with a tall or bouncy dog, and dog-and-cat households where the cat needs a dog-free zone.

Who should skip it

Top of stairs — use a hardware-mounted gate there for safety.

Tips

Measure the doorway at its narrowest and check the gate's width range. Give your cat a few days to learn the small door with treats on the other side.
