Our in-depth look
Who it's for
Fussy eaters, older dogs whose appetite has dropped, and owners who want to add variety to a kibble diet.
Who should skip it
Homes with very young children or immunocompromised people — raw pet foods carry a risk of bacteria such as Salmonella.
Tips
Use it as a topper and reduce kibble slightly to keep calories steady. Wash hands and bowls after handling raw food. Grain-free note: The FDA has investigated a possible link between some grain-free diets and heart disease (DCM), so talk to your vet before choosing grain-free.
